Steering clear of the haze, Mile Wide Brewing sees the brightness in IPA with the help of experimental hops, a succinct bitterness and with a keen eye to detail.
Medium amber and held in a slight hop induced haze, Eagle Eyed Tiger builds a frothy ivory crown while emitting a perfumy tropical, piney and citrusy scent. While the character of granola, caramel, toasty and nutty character shows in the nose, it extends also to a supple sweetness of mild honey.
The middle palate is all about transition. Shying away from anything malty, the unique taste of the hops start out with a more classic orange peel, grapefruit peel flavor before switching over to dried pineapple, light mango and apricot. Rounding up in a quick finish, the late taste is bitter with notions of fresh pine, fine grasses and a sharper botanical character.
Medium bodied and trending lighter and drier, the classic "west coast" bitterness gives traditional hop heads what they like while providing a new hop flavor to create intrigue. A lasting bitterness far outshines any malt influence in a dry, crisp, refreshing and off-clean gin-like bite.

16 ounce can, no dating I noticed but I read online this was released 7/30/2020 so it's still pretty fresh. Thanks to my buddy Denis for picking this up for me on a recent trip to Louisville! Served in a Mile Wide pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear gold color with a couple inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. Aroma is nice and citrusy, the brew smells like grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pine along with a bit of bready malt. Taste is pretty much like the aroma, but there's also some citrus peel and mango flavors noticeable. Slight bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and creamy with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this WCIPA a lot, definitely worth trying if you visit the taproom or get a can from somewhere!
