Easy, bright and distinctive, Mile Wide Brewing embraces the Galaxy hop variety in creating a taste that boldly goes where few brewers have gone before.
Pouring with a medium golden appearance and cast in moderate hoppy hazy, Nebula immediately teases the nose with a bouquet of tropical fruit, stone fruit, citrus and herb before sharing a malty taste of shortcake, honey and light dough.
But the focus shifts back to the hops once the beer washes across the middle palate. A tangy sensation of passionfruit, apricot, under ripened orange, white grapefruit and a hint of pineapple tease the tastebuds with a juicy and bright fruit display. Trending moderately bitter, an herbal character of lemon verbena, green tea, lemongrass, fresh spruce and an overall botanical gin-like taste captivates the late palate.
Medium bodied and trending malty-dry, the single hop Pale Ale finishes a little spicy with hops to go along with its fruity character which tightens into a leaf, peel and pith bite. A medium length aftertaste keeps the balance even keel, with the hops reaching slightly further than the malts. In the end, the Galaxy hop variety is a beautiful hop, but it can't carry the load all on its own.
