Bright, juicy and plump with hoppy fruitiness, Mile Wide sets a loud and proud taste that's music to our tastebuds.
Pouring a pale and hazy golden straw, Mookie hits the glass with a voluminous pour and a patiently pulling froth to greet the rim with an eggshell stained cap. As its radiant perfume of citrus, herb and a light background sweetness, a sense of citronella drifts over the senses. Sweeter though to taste, early impressions of cereal, honey and shortcake come to mind immediately.
As the ale washes the middle palate, the tide turns toward the hops once again with a bright and beautiful taste of tangerine, white grapefruit, lemon, under ripened mango, passionfruit and papaya. With an almost winey twinge, the hops slowly develop into a vinous, peppery and grassy taste leading to a bitterness of spruce, verbena and hemp for balance and complexity.
As the session closes, the ale finishes malty-dry with just enough bitterness to appease the most bitter hop heads, Mookie hits a home run with a fruit filled center and a pleasantly dank after palate.
