With one foot in Vienna and another one in Kentucky, and somehow yet another in Paris… how many feet do these people have. Maybe it’s just one and it’s a mile wide.

Pouring a clean, crisp and clear amber appearance, the bubbly Paris Town floats a frothy slightly ivory stained head all while emitting a toasty, nutty and slightly caramelized scent laced with modestly floral hops. As the malt focused lager starts with a first sip of toast and pecan, its sweetness is laced with suggestions of honey and light caramel.

As the amber lager splashes the middle palate, its dries quickly to just remnants of nuts and toast that bounce off the tongue with that brisk carbonation. Fleeting sweetness highlights transition of hops from floral to more spicy in its bitterness as the session concludes with a lightly bittered and malty-dry finish.

Medium bodied and fuller than the average lager, but lighter than most American ale, this Vienna-styled lager embodies what’s best about the characterful but highly drinkable style, even as a spicy and toasty taste persists in a fairly quick aftertaste.
