Draft at the brewery
Huge creamy foamy mocha head, fades slowly great retention and messy lacing nice legs, pitch black beer
Nose brings loads of barrel, reminds me of original Tennessee tats, big woody oak esters and sweet bourbon, little oxidation brandy like fruity aroma, tons of dark choc, cocoa, mild roast, faint caramel and cookie dough malts
Taste sweet candy, caramel, toffee, big sweet malt, mild cookie dough and nougat, big dark chocolate and choc ganache, big woody barrel, oak vanilla and toasted dusty oak and bourbon, mild barrel spices, touch of bitterness, very faint fruits, some juicy bourbon, raisin and oxidation brandy flavors coming more as it warms, as well as bitterness, mild spicy hop late, drier finish but sticky
Mouth is fuller bod, thick and a little lush, touch of light astringency on the finish, and flash of alcohol
Overall pretty nice, base beer is good but not great, picks up nice barrel and aging fruits, pretty enjoyable but I feel this has more potential

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery.
A - Poured into a standard tulipa nice dark black hue with a nice one finger mocha head that fades to leave light lacing with a creamy blanket and stellar legs that cling to the glass like a glue.
S - Aromas of deep barrel notes, nice vanilla, rich bourbon. The bourbon is strong and slightly sweet. Little bit of chocolate, cookies, and fudge. Rather pleasant.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of barrel notes and whiskey. The bourbon is on the hot side, little vanilla. Chocolate is nice, both rich and syrupy/sticky. Nice dark chocolate and dense truffles.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, body is on the thinner side, finish is hot bourbon as well.
O - Overall this was a solid BA stout. I think it needs time to mellow out as it's drinking rather hot at the moment with that barrel being front and center by elbowing out the stout itself. As it is now it's nowhere near as drinkable as Swordfish was when it was fresh off the tap.
