Canned 4/??/22. Looks like the unknown digits are 26 but it’s very smeared
I’m not sure I’ve ever had a beer brewed with rose hips, but Tripel does seem like a fittingn base style for it as well as the honey. I don’t tend to really love the style as is, so hopefully this adjunct treatment will take it beyond the realm of tradition. Let’s dive in
Pours a cloudy brownish orange with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The adjuncts are very obvious in the nose, but it is still clearly a Tripel. I’m picking up on aromas of wildflower honey, clove, bready malt, floral hops, pear skin, light raisin, and rose hips
In taste unfortunately it leans a bit too sweet, and ironically too far outside of the style. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting sweet honey, crackery malt, clove, white pepper, apple skin, toffee, rose, overripe banana, and light lemon zest. The swallow brings notes of wildflower honey, rose hips, bready malt, apple skin, orange marmalade, toffee, and light clove
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth and creamy beer. Finishes a bit sticky and sweet
It’s definitely a bit odd, but it’s still pretty enjoyable for what it is. Definitely not true to style but interesting
