Our IPA is a light blonde colour with a slightly malty backbone balanced by a smooth bitterness, and accentuated by refreshing citrus and tropical notes of North American hops.
IPAs, short for India Pale Ales, were traditionally stronger, highly hopped versions of British ales made to survive the long voyage to India. The British troops stationed in India became accustomed to these ales, and upon returning home wanted the local brewers to make more of these India Pale Ales.
Try pairing this IPA with big, bold tasting foods like an Indian curry, some spicy fajitas, a nice chunk of well grilled meat, or a rich chocolate cake.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From The Roundhouse Centre LCBO on Howard Ave. in nearby Windsor. Canned May 15/25. My 8th beer from the London, Ontario brewery, and 6th for 2025. Adamantly adored by Sundae the cat...

Pours a fair amount of foam but can start to die down after a couple minutes. Amber color with strong citrous and pine aromas. Taste is leaning towards pine and hop oil. It's quite nice. Not too much citrous peel. There is some grapefruit after taste. A little bit floral too. This is a pretty good IPA and I would drink again.

Pours radiant peach with a shortlived head and some yeast chunks swirling around. Tropical fruit and toasty malts in the nose. Fruity, citrusy hops with an astringent edge mix with a grainy, doughy malt profile in the taste. The mouthfeel is light bodied with sparse carbonation.
Malty for the style with a bit of harshness in the hop profile but worth a try.

Copper with a haze, no carbonation, and 4 fingers of fluffy, white head.
On a deep breath, it smells of pine, citrus and a light red cayenne.
The taste is more complex than the nose. Light, but full of pine, cedar sap, fresh cut log, a hint of grape, and a moderate bitterness.
Medium body, with little carbonation.
Got at Summerhill LCBO in Toronto, drinking in New Hamburg, July 13th, 2018. Satisfying.

Pine nuts! Well, of course.
A clever idea to implement, that was totally not relayed to me by the Toronto LCBO staff member who said that "this was more of the piney, old fashioned IPA". It absolutely isn't, because when he said "piney", I know he didn't mean this.
I have yet to taste roasted pine nuts in beer with such clarity and I am surprised that this is not recognized by others, but then again, you would have to consume pine nuts with enough frequency to instantly recognize it.
So let folks mistaken it for this and that fruit. I am loving Anderson's idea here - it works well.

My first reaction to this IPA is that it smells and tastes more like Sculpin than any other beer I've tried. I'd attribute a good amount of this to the dank/grapefruit dominated hop flavours in this tasty new Ontario IPA. If, like myself, you've enjoyed Sculpin but can't get it where you live, then Anderson IPA will give you a nice mouthful of deja vu!

355 mL can from a six-pack purchased at the LCBO; dated Feb 3 2017 and served just below cellar temperature.
Pours a lightly hazed, effervescent golden-blonde colour, with roughly 2 cm of soapy white foam produced atop. Good retention, with lots of sexy, sticky lace left clinging to the interior surface of the glass as it gradually recedes down to a persistent cap and frothy collar about half a finger high. Citrusy lemon zest and grapefruit come through on the nose, as well as notes of peach, cantaloupe and just a touch of wet pine.
Not bad at all. Light pale malt sweetness is immediately overwhelmed by the hops - more peach, grapefruit pith, pine resin and floral bitterness, with the latter two intensifying as you approach the back end. Finishes with more of the same - resiny dankness, floral astringency, and a hint of stone fruit sweetness to balance it out a little. Medium-bodied, with relatively low carbonation levels that result in a smooth, soft mouthfeel. Pretty crushable for a 6.5% IPA.
Final Grade: 3.93, a worthy B+. Anderson IPA makes for a fine introduction to this fledgling brewery, and this sampling has pretty much guaranteed that I will make a point of stopping by the brewery on Elias Street the next time I'm in London. While I don't think I would necessarily consider this an especially unique example of an IPA, it's still a well-made one that I'm happy I grabbed, and would be willing to pick up again in the future. Stand sure, fellow Anderson.
