A golden-coloured Czech-style pilsner with subtle caramel tones and a pleasing hoppy bitterness. 37 IBU

355 mL can from the LCBO, included in Anderson's Lager Mix Six pack. Dated Feb 28 2024 and served slightly chilled. Reviewed from notes taken last year.
Pours a clear golden colour, fitted with two fingers of pillowy, soapy white head that lasts for several minutes. It leaves behind multiple rings of delicate lace, with a frothy cap and collar eventually remaining. Grainy, crackery aroma with hints of grassy hops and earthiness.
A tasty and generally well-rounded lager, but perhaps a little more bitter than average for the style. I'm gettng grainy malts, together with freshly baked bread and a faint touch of caramelized sugars. This is followed up by some grassy, herbal hop bitterness on the back end, with these hop flavours persisting through the finish and briefly into the aftertaste. Light in body, with aggressively sharp carbonation and a frothy mouthfeel; a little bloaty, but otherwise quite drinkable, especially given the small serving size.
Final Grade: 3.84, a B+. I enjoyed Anderson's Czech Pils, and could see myself drinking this beer on a regular basis: it'd make a good substitute for some of my go-to pilsners, such as Budvar, Bitburger and Pilsner Urquell. Worth a try if you find it.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from their Lager Mix Six boxset from my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the London, ON brewery.
