355 mL can from the LCBO, included in an Anderson IPA mixed pack. Dated Aug 6 2025 and served barely chilled.

Pours a relatively clear golden-yellow colour, with a substantial amount of sandy sediment dispersed throughout its body. Rising to the surface is nearly two fingers of bubbly, soapy white head that melts off within three minutes or so, reduced to a sudsy collar and some scattered patches of lace. Subtle aroma of melon, orange and orchard fruits, with suggestions of grainy pale malts and herbal hops.

This is surprisingly flavourful for only 3%. The hops have an herbal, minty quality about them, though there's also notes of bruised apple, stone fruit and citrus peel; the malts are relegated to light duty, forming a scaffold of gritty, grainy cereal background sweetness. Fruity, pithy finish that precedes a dry aftertaste. Light in body, with moderately assertive carbonation that lends a prickly frothiness to this light pale ale's thin mouthfeel. Excellent drinkability - I polished this can off quickly, and could easily toss back a few of these on a lazy Saturday.

Final Grade: 3.82, a B+. I don't tend to repurchase session IPAs all that often, but I enjoyed Anderson's Light IPA more than most, and would recommend it to BAs seeking out a flavourful, um, light IPA. The hop flavours are bright and inviting, but perhaps more importantly there's enough of a grainy malt presence to make me feel like I'm drinking a real IPA, largely avoiding that 'hop tea' vibe I get from some lesser session IPAs. A solid beer that I'm sure I'll return to at some point.
