3/28/26 - (Whiner Beer Taproom) (Chicago, Illinois) Draft Notes: 16 oz $7 5.2% Dark Kolsch.
Appearance: 16 oz draft in a nonic glass yields a creamy tan white head of thin creamy bubbles, sustained carbonation in the bronze red unfiltered base. 4.0
Aroma: Barely there malt after a few attempts. 2.5
Taste: Much stronger taste, salty caramel, toffee, really nice. 4.25
Mouthfeel: Mild sustained light carbonation, drinks light, very malty, nice caramel and toffee and a bit of cold brew ice tea on the finish. Nice. 4.0
Overall: Overall, don’t recall by memory a dark Kolsch, and while I’m not a big malty Octoberfest type of guy, this really works with a wonderful toffee and caramel flavor. Liquid desert. 4.25
