opp, or overland park pale. like all the beers i had in here, this is well made but almost annoyingly basic, foundational, and safe. good execution of a generic recipe is fine, but it doesnt really excite me or call me back to a place that does such things. that said, this pale ale is super fresh, very well hopped, and almost pushing ipa in its bitterness in the finish. there is a touch of a vienna or crystal malt to this too, giving it just a little mid palate sweetness and body, which i think sets up a more balanced beer with all these hops. notes of pine and spicy hops to finish it off, decent carbonation, and its relatively dry. simple ingredients, simple processes, fresh beer. the equation is easy, and these guys are doing it well in the early going, no denying this is well made, but i would really like to see a little more innovation and experimentation in their brew house. this would be nice with an extra dry hop, a tea addition, or some lemongrass, i dont even really care, but give us something! if you like a basic pale, you will not be let down by this.
