Birra Godog "Pils Is The New IPA"
€3 on tap @ Diorama, Firenze, IT on 26 November 2019
Look: Clear straw gold body beneath a short head of bright white foam. Average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Medium-bright aroma of Pilsner malt and grasy and spicy hops.
Taste: Full flavored with Pilsner malt that's threaded through with lemony, grassy, and spicy and herbal hops. A stiff bitterness balances it and it finishes dry with lingering malt and bitter and herbal hops once the lemon passes.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: A very well done Pilsner. Interesting, satisfying, and refreshing.

Low fermentation with only Pils malt and Dry-Hopping of American hops.
An "American-Pils", so "sui generis"...
Clear, clean transparent.
Abundant and soft foam cap.
The fruity notes of American hops used in dry hopping emerge on the nose.
Light body, right carbonation.
In the mouth there are notes of malt that go to remember the crust of bread, bread with cereals, but immediately afterwards the fruity (Peach, mango) and herbaceous hints take over.
Definitely not a pils, but it reflects what is cleared by the brewery: a mix between a base of Pils and a modern characterization with the Dry hopping of hops that give taste sensations decidedly different from those of the classic continental hops.
For those who know it, it reminds me of Nittenauer - AMANDA - Zwickel Pils.
