Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 13oz snifter, deep red in color with a near barren surface and fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass. No lacing, but none expected.
Smell - Strong cherry aroma, nearly as sweet as it is tart.
Taste - Follows the nose. Cherry tartness upfront before sweetness adds a bit of balance. Faint touch of earthiness in the finish. Long, sour cherry aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with spritzy carbonation. Easy drinker with a crisp, dry finish.
Overall - Pretty darn good sour. Cherry all the way, and with 750 lbs used in the brewing process, its no surprise.
