Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a Willi pint, slight haze and pale yellow in color with a mostly barren surface and a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing - a few tiny spots.
Smell - Mild citrus, grain and a bit of that corn aroma you get in a beer like Coors Light.
Taste - Follows the nose. Citrusy and slightly spicy hop bite upfront with a corn and slightly grainy undertone. Corn sticks around in the finish as the hops begin to fade, leaving a mostly macro impression.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with fair, bitey carbonation. Drinks smooth and easy before a crisp, slightly dry finish.
Overall - Decent lager. Interesting decision to use flaked corn in the Brewing process, because it gives it that macro flavor that most craft drinkers tend to avoid. Citra adds a good hop bite, but outside that I can't imagine why I'd want to drink this again, especially with colder days just around the corner.
