Muted pine and grapefruit with a solid malt back.
Tingly mouth feel makes this interesting.
Overall, very solid.

On tap at Mercury Bar in Detroit, MI.
This one pours a fairly clear golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like pine, citrus rind, and some slight maltiness.
This is a pretty straightforward, emblematic, but definitely well done West Coast style IPA. It’s got a clean and refreshing bitterness to it, very little maltiness, and a pleasantly pithy grapefruit, orange, and melon fruity thing going.
This is lighter bodied, but very crisp, clean, and drinkable.
This is pretty much exactly what I think of when I think of the style – it’s not super mind-blowing, but it’s well done.

16 ounce can courtesy of my pal Ryan Fanselow (ryanlovesyou). Thanks chap! Canning date of March 7, consumed April 13.
L: Mostly clear amber hue with some chill haze and one finger of white froth. Sheets of lacing line the Nonic glass. Head retains well.
S: White grapefruit, orange zest, candied lemon. Some pine resin, caramel and nectarine. Hint of basil.
T: Largely follows the nose.
F: Medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. Oily middle + balancing sweetness. Resinous, bone dry finish with a bold, pithy bitterness.
O: A superlative West Coast-style IPA that stands out from the pack. At 7.7%, this approaches Double IPA territory, but thankfully the alcohol is not apparent. Bursting with Pacific Northwest hop character, this Michigan-brewed Westie is definitely worth buying.

Excellent head production and solid retention. Body has quite a bit of haze, although not in the style of NE IPAs - rather, it simply looks like a very unfiltered WC IPA.
Aroma is quite pleasant and a touch sharp, with lots of pine and resin, along with grapefruit, lemon, peach, and caramel.
Flavor delivers on an old school vibe, with a fairly strong caramel and pale malt body providing moderate sweetness (for the style), balanced by a solid amount of bitterness. Hop expression is fairly restrained, with notes of lemon, grapefruit, melon, and a lot of resin. The malt really does a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of flavor, which isn't a bad thing. Just a touch of musty barnyard flavor, not unlike Brett, but much milder.
Extremely lively, especially about the gums, despite the fairly high ABV. Fairly dry, with a relatively short finish.

Pours west coast in appearance, a copper glow with nice foaming. The aroma makes you work for it, classic piney citrusy notes. Nicely bitter, with a floral hop finish on the sip. Just an all around well done WCIPA.

I tried this along with my brother and father. This is clearly a unanimous “get again”. Great IPA.

This is my first review after using this site for quite a while now, and of course it had to be a fantastic IPA that motivated me to log in and do this.
I've had Rezolute a number of times now, and keep going back to it. It's probably my favorite "generalist" IPA right now. They way I describe it is basically the maximum amount of character and flavor you can pack into a high ABV "always in the fridge" beer. The pine notes come through strong without being overbearing, and you don't get that bite despite the high ABV. Just a crisp flavorful brew that you never have to be "in the mood" for. Wonderfully bitter with a hint of a sweet soft edge.
It reminds me of Short's Huma, but with a bit more character. Both easy drinking, but this is just a little extra on the flavor. Just supremely well balanced.
