No canning date (released on 9/24/20, so presumably canned within a few days of that date); consumed on 12/8/20

Pours a brilliantly clear brown varnish/pale ruby hue with sharp orange accents and topped with just over a finger of fluffy, off-white foam; good head retention leaves a thin curtain of cap, a large, creamy collar, and the occasional grouping of spotty lacing in pockets around the walls of the glass.

Aroma opens with toffee and pronounced notes of corn whiskey into a middle deepening with smoked figs and a nutty vanilla undercurrent impressing itself on the bouquet throughout; cocoa and stale black bread fade with the close.

Taste opens with an immediate impression of light, straight bourbon/corn whiskey before easing to a crescendo of vanilla and oak chips as caramel and figs appear over the mid-palate and dried bakers chocolate, melted caramel, deeper corn, and a light minerality further accents the finish.

Mouthfeel offers a fully rounded medium body feeding into a fluffy, high carbonation, which fades to a steady warming with mild oily textures over the mid-palate and a consistent grit progressing into a splintery dry finish.

Weighty in flavor via the barrel aging (and leaving some impressions of a scotch ale), though composed with enough finesse to leave the beer as a whole drinking incredibly softly for a 9.5% lager; bourbon is light and tentatively integrated, while the base Märzen appears on the sweeter side, and yet the end result is plush and calm, almost acceptably mild.
