On tap at Beer Merchant's Tap in the fast-regenerating neighborhood of Hackney Wick.
This is my second from Whiplash and Slow Life also proves to me that they are not only prolific, but more important, inventive in yet a second style.
Irish Nitros tend to focus on the smoothness and finish nicely dry. Whiplash does that here also, but doesn't overwhelm with the roastiness, which strikes me as inventive by focussing on blending the malts with more character.
Slow Life Looks appetising with a big foam, but it does settle more than most and has a modest lace. Smells could be stronger and are only slightly above average for the style. But again, Whiplash's intent seems a more subtle display of flavours and less reliant on chocolate and more on coffee. Thus, the finish seems less dry and more subtle. Better than medium-mouthed for this full and soft style.

Copenhagen 14/11 2025. 40 cl from tap at Taphouse ø, Lavendelstræde, Kbh. K.
Pours opaque dark brown with a condensed light beige head. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet and malty odor mingling with a salty streak. Chocolate and toffee. Salt caramel. Hint of brown sugar.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit viscous, soft, smooth, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a salty tang. Lingers for a bit. Finish is flat and semi-dry.
A bit on the flat and watery side.

Small sample on tap at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, creamy nitro head. Aroma and flavour much like Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish - the character is maybe a bit softer than Guinness. Should be palatable even for people who normally stick to paler beers.

On nitro at The Big Romance, Dublin
Classic bishop’s collar with slight tan cream; cafe au lait and burnt caramel; treacle, ash, coffee grounds, big creamy middle, + a middlingly tight end; nitro creaminess.
4 x 5
All coffee, no chocolate. Shifts from having stoutier character than Guinness to feeling creamier as it opens - makes me wonder if there’s a dash of lactose (note: there’s not - no roast either!) A bit interesting, but nothing shocking.
