Milky platinum with a proud white collar; lemon with a Weetina backdrop on the nose; white grape, canary melon, donut peaches, Bartlett pears; clean, slightly bitter, crisp.

Hallertau Blanc, Astra
New hop alert! I’ve not had Astra, but it’s an odd choice to pair it with H Blanc, which seems like all the same beats with the volume turned up.
In any case, they paint a lightly fruity, fun frolic across a porridgey, neutral background. It feels more like a sketch - what would happen with these hops on the bready base of grisette - rather than a fully realized beer.
Still, good for all that, plays like a food friend + sips well at a reasonable ABV.
A brunch-of-soft-cheeses beer.
