473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 12 2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours cloudy and translucent, its body an amber-rose colour; situated atop is nearly two fingers of lumpy, foamy, pale pink-tinged head that slowly dissipates over the course of five minutes, give or take. It leaves behind a sticky band of lacing as it is reduced to a wide, sudsy collar and cap - looks good to me. Wheaty, grainy pale malts on the nose, with plenty of raspberry flesh/juiciness coming through quite clearly; hints of lemon zest, sour raspberry juice and faintly peppery yeast spiciness. Nothing about the aroma screams 'Belgian' to me, but I really like the raspberry/lemon combo.

This is a nice beer with more nuance than I was prepared to give it credit for. Grainy malts and lemon zest, then powdered sugar and wheat husk, but the raspberry flavours remain strong throughout. Sweet berry flesh, followed by tart juiciness, with suggestions of bitter raspberry seed and tannin astringency persisting through the finish; a little peppery and wheaty afterwards, but the raspberry juice is what lingers on. Light-medium in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains crisp, prickly and biting throughout the session; feels fluffy as it froths up on the tongue. Raspberry beer fans will have no trouble tossing this one back.

Final Grade: 3.79, a B+. Raspberry Lemonale is a beautiful blending of fruit beer and Belgian table beer - the raspberry flavours shine through in particular, but the underlying base beer is just barely sturdy enough to complete the experience. The lemon flavours could stand to be amped up somewhat, but I still enjoyed this brew and would purchase it again if I were in the mood for raspberry, and would recommend it to anyone craving the same.

473 ml can served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for close to $4 CDN.

Appearance - Peach colored brew with three fingers of loose white head. Plenty fizzy with modest retention time. Plenty hazy too.

Smell - Lots of raspberry and some lemon, smells more like a mixed drink than beer. Lemon is pretty muted.

Taste - Light, a little grainy, a smidgen of sweet raspberry and a small counterbalance of lemon. Quite sweet though and it builds, with light flavors. Watery and lacking lemon. It is based on a light and semi-sweet Belgian table beer, but the raspberry sweetness builds a bit too much.

Mouthfeel - Quite spritzy, but also some weight to the body making this not so easy to drink quick for such a light (otherwise) beer.

Overall - Good concept, but lack of intense and especially lasting flavor, the excessive fizziness just makes this a little harder to drink than it should be. Not bad, but not for me, even though it was consumed in idyllic 24 degree patio weather.

Pours a mix between orange and pink, with a huge aggressive pink head on top. I get the spicyness of a saison on the smell with a bit of raspberry. The taste is similar to the smell but I detect some of the lemon. This would be a good starter example for a new beer drinker as a mild example of a Belgian-type or Farmhouse-type of ale.
