Imperial Saison with pomegranate and crenshaw melon. 9.5% Alc. by Vol, 45 IBU
Pomology is defined as the science of growing fruit, and we think that this name is appropriate because the beer was made with pomegranates and crenswhaw melons locally grown at the UNR master gardeners orchard. This imperial saison has a fruity nose, lingering malt and pepper in the body, finishing with an hint of fruit.

Tasted on tap at the taproom.
Golden-orange color and just a bit hazy. Low, off-white head. Aromas are nutty and fruity but in a non-beer-like way—reminds me of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Spicy yeast note finishes out the aroma. The flavors are very nutty but the spice note jumps out more than in the aroma, making it less like a PBJ. There is also strong black pepper yeast note. Medium to full body with low but creamy carbonation. Moderate hops bitterness. Significant alcohol presence. Overall, an interesting twist on a saison.
