Big coffee notes and a slight hint of chocolate, big roasty flavor.

I had this on tap at the brewery. This one smells like freshly ground coffee beans, amazing!! The taste is strong slightly sweet coffee. Really good!!!

for me this was hands down the best beer here, in a lineup of outstanding beers in a range of styles, it was easily my favorite. not sure which coffee they used, or how they add it, but the flavor of the coffee is so forward and rich and roasty and wintery and comforting and distinctive that the overall stout is elevated to the next level. i liked this better than the chocolate edition (which is also outstanding), there is something about the earthen bitterness and heavy dark roast of the java that takes the base beer up several notches. smooth, with a note of caramel in the center, dark raw chocolate, and tons of brewed espresso. its awesome, and it absolutely without question packs a caffeine kick. good body, a little slippery going down, neither sweet nor dry, but seemingly right on for what it is. the base beer seems kind of simple in this context because the coffee is so robust, but i like it like that, it lets it really show itself. i like this as a morning or late night brew, and its the best of a whole number of delicious beers boiler brewing makes. the first and last beer i will have when i go back.
