an interesting beer right here, it seems like these guys do a handful of base styles and then mix it up with them, add coffee, a different fruit, a different yeast strain, whatever. this one is one of their blonde types with aronia berry added. this is a pungent and medicinally useful berry, sort of like an elderberry, and it comes though a little sharp in this. it has to be a syrup or concentrate, not sure where they would get it otherwise or how they could swing it. its good, but its sweet and tart at the same time, and the base beer is almost lost to it, like its somewhat over dosed. i liked it a lot as i was drinking it, but now recalling it i like it less. it seems sort of forced on the fruit, although the base beer is very good, all the base beers were very good here at boiler. its a cool spot too, and they did a huge range of style very well, but this one was on the weaker end of their portfolio. i like the unique flavor of the berry though, and it does come though here pretty well, but i like almost all of their beers better than this one.
