The name and description of this beer scared me at first, making me think it was going to be one of those overly sweet and pastry-heavy abominations. But I was wrong. This is a huge beer but insanely balanced, but at the same time rich, and satisfying. A huge fan.

poured from a 750mL bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. pours thick black like motor oil. smells of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and light peanut butter. taste follows. rich, decadent, filling. it’s not as sweet as it could be and i’m good with that. the adjuncts are kept in check by the base stout and are well balanced. it has a thick, full mouthfeel. could be syrupy except for a nice wash of spritzy carbonation on the finish. good stuff.
