So according to Garrett Oliver Galahad is a Local 1 Aged on Oyster River cider lees. Hmm. Pours like its base beer with a vigorous pure white head that fades rather quickly. Not much lacing given the amount of foam. Nose gives away the cider lees. Lots of sweetness from the light malt but the large apple and grape tartness gives a sour like personality. A light funk and grain component. Taste is a melding of champaign, Belgian strong ale, and a golden sour ale with a blend of cider. Sweet cidery front flowing into a malty sweet and grain body. Cider and light fruits with a lovely bready bloom. Wine like dryness and finish with a light flourish of alcohol and light fruits. Really develops as it warms up. Tart and lightly puckering with a lightly floral hop bitterness. Feel is effervescent and lightly creamy with a full and refreshing quality. Quenching on a hot summer night. A great take on the style. Really something amazing.
