Appearance: Dark brown color with red highlights; a decent head with a touch of lacing

Smell: Chocolate and dark fruit notes struggle to make themselves apparent

Taste: From the first sip, the chocolate notes make their presence felt; then the fruitiness follows along with some modest bitter flavors

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation

Drinkability: A nice full-flavored porter; easy to drink

Blackened dark, cloudy, hazy, no headed pour.

Virtually indescernible pale scents of at best, clean scents. Aroma was struggling to be detected.

Flavors are enjoyable, but looking to detect something describable. Hmmm... coffee stoudt? [Note: This is at a bar TDR in Exton and it's a bit crowded] Clean flavors.

Difficult to describe. Relying on review numbers, and dead reckoning.

Beer is good. Happy beering.

Went on the Brooklyn Brewery tour and they had this on tap in their tasting room. The tourguide said it was a special, limited time brew with only about 30 barrels available. All around it was a quite serviceable porter, especially since it is tough to find porter on tap in the summer. It poured chocolate brown in color with very little head. The aroma and the taste were marked with hints of coffee and even stronger tones of chocolate. The hops were only slightly bitter, but quickly became a chocolatey bittersweet flavor. However, I'm not exactly sure, but I think I could taste the NYC tapwater used in the brewing.
