a very interesting beer here from these guys, one of those ghost bottle series beers, and another one done with wine lees from them, this time riesling lees. its cloudy and pale from the bottle but puts up a nice head and has a very wild aroma to it. i get the grapey winey elements, riesling almost always seems sweet to me, and it does here in the nose, minerals and cut flowers with the fruit. i also get a strange kind of stinky yeast thing somewhat less mature than other brooklyn wild beers, kind of reminds me of the serpent they did, winey and oddly strong, belgian but also bretty, but tart and a little sharp here. its crazy this is a strong beer, it has a delicate yeast nuance thats usually reserved for smaller saison types, its dry and not boozy, impressively built. wheaty in body and base, some pils type malt too, a juiciness to the wine character of this, and a ton of carbonation, i believe reconditioned in the bottle. its bretty and a little tangy, very interesting and floral at the end, plenty of riesling character too, and a really good beer overall, different and weird too though, maybe a few tweaks off from being all the way dialed in, but it was a treat to drink this and brooklyn continues to excite me with their wild stuff. this really is an interesting bottle of beer!
