Served in a pint glass at the Yale Club. From notes. Reviewed 19 January 2016.
4/3.5/4/4/4
Dark yellow brown. Clear and effervescent.
It smells sharp, but not quite sulfuric. Clean later tang. Hint of lemon.
Yum. Clean, fresh, vibrant, and bright. Citrus, great yeast, mild-pleasant grain. Fairly brief maintaste, but without any trace of unpleasantness.
Overall, thoroughly enjoyable. Recommended!

Yale Club Lager. Available on tap @ the Yale Club of NYC
Appearance:
Effervescent light amber color with infrequent bubbles from carbonation. Half an inch white foamy head. Had in a 20 oz. pint glass.
Aroma:
Similar to the Brooklyn Lager (perhaps not surprisingly as this is a special varient apparently brewed for the club). Grassy hops, caramel malts and citrusy back notes.
Taste:
This is where it differs from the Brooklyn Lager: Definitely getting grassy, citrusy hops flavor in the foreground, with some caramel malts hanging back. BUT there's a distinctive berry flavor (blueberry is my best guess). Normally this taste would not work, but somehow it just fits in with the hop flavor and complements the earthy caramel malts. Slightly dry finish, and bitter-sweet aftertaste.
Mouthfeel & Drinkability:
Medium bodied with light carbonation. It is pleasingly rounded though for an American lager. Very drinkable, I could have a bunch of these before getting bored with the flavor.
Availability Note:
Had at the Yale Club of NYC while visiting with a friend. I asked the bartender, and apparently Brooklyn Brewery brews a special lager for the club modeled after their standard lager. I'm not sure about availability in other parts of the city, but it's worth trying if you have a chance to visit.
