Sampled on tap at the Blind Tiger, NYC.
This tripel poured a nice golden color with some chill haze and thin white foam. The smell was modest for a tripel, but good: bananas, sweet malt, apples, apple skins. The taste was fruity (bananas and cloves), malty, with a bit of hops. The taste was sweet, but not overly sweet. There was also a hint of spice (cinnamon?) in the flavors. The mouthfeel was smooth, creamy, and warming, with medium body and low carbonation feel. There was a hint of hops in the finish. This was an excellent and very drinkable tripel.

A very clear straw gold color, with almost no carbonation, thin white soft head, thin and soft but unmovable lace. Nose was of grass, honey, garden herbs. Becomes piney, almost like rosemary - strange sounding but me and my drinking partner had to agree this scent was there. Flavors were of honey, clover, flower. Had a chewy light wheat taste, a yummy yeast, and a creamy dry cheese flavor in the finish. At end it wonderfully coated my mouth's roof. At first the mouthfeel was nice belgian triple tingle, then gave way to a slightly oily yet thin mouthfeel. A moderate and whole embodiment of the style.
Drinkable and well done, as always with Garrett's hand crafted specialties. Doesnt try to hard to match or outdo its well-established belgian predecessors. A good but not amazing triple, as it lacks the gorgeous punch, sublime subtlety, or amazing details of many of the greats (Westmalle, etc.). Regardless, this is better than just good.

On tap at Mug’s Ale House in Brooklyn, NY.
Appearance: Beautiful yellow-golden opaque color. White head.
Smell: Sweet malt and yeast.
Taste: Very sweet candied malt, followed by a tinge of yeast flavor and spiciness. Finishes with warm alcohol taste.
Mouthfeel: Very buttery.
Drinkability: Extremely drinkable, but the alcohol got to me very quickly. Packs a punch.
Comments: This is one serious brew. Always a treat when found on tap.
