12 ounce can poured into tumbler style pint glass.

Straw to pale in color and slightly hazy with a big three finger soapy head that leaves clumps of lace. Nose is hop forward, mostly citrus with some grainy malt. Taste is hop forward as well but in line with the style, citrus peel, moderately bitter, clean dry finish. Body is light with high carbonation. Good session beer with more flavor than some session IPAs I have had.

it's light, it's refreshing...and its low calorie, but don't expect a memorable crafty hazy it is what it is and enjoy it as an average plus beer in the lo-cal genre.

Drank from the can so I'll give it a default appearance score of 4. Initial impression is a bitter, dry, clean IPA that seems like it should have more ABV and can't possibly be a light beer. Mouthfeel is pretty substantial, too. Fiish is dry and bitter, but not unpleasantly so. Overall, a remarkable achievement by Yards. I'm impressed.

12 oz bottle, bottled 4/22/21

Very light yellow in color, slightly hazy, white head. Citrus aroma, but not overly atrong or complex. Taste is thin, but does have a mild hop bite. Thin fizzy mouthfeel

Best light ale I have every tasted (after traditional guinness). I score this higher than most.
a) Hazy yellow-amber nice lace.
s) lemony, fresh, more grapefruit.
t) These aromas rise boldly for a lightweight beer. Lovely arc with plenty of bitter hops through the finale.
f) Starts fresh and juicy and cleanses, dry and scrubbing.
o) So much going on in a light weight beer.

Yards Brewing Co. "Featherweight"
12 fl. oz. can coded "073120" 520A 0346"
$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Just 3.7 ABV and 105 calories. It's surprisingly hazy for being a light beer. Golden in color beneath a full head of fluffy white foam. The aroma is interesting. It's sweetish, tropical/citrusy (pineapple, orange, pink grapefruit), and kind of minty. On to the taste... the malt comes through, although mild, and there's a mild bitterness ~ although it may be a little much considering what it's up against, we'll see. The soft fruitiness found in the nose remains: pineapple, orange, kiwi, melon, lime, and berry. The minty note appears in the finish as well. It seems like a light beer, but not a "light beer", I guess because of the hops. I'm kind of used to light beers myself as I'm quite fond of English ales, and it's not uncommon to find beers over there of this strength. Yeah, it's pleasant and easy to drink, that all makes sense coming from Yards. It's surprisingly medium-light in body, and soft and smooth across the tongue. I still haven't decided how I feel about the bitterness but I'm OK with it for this one. If I was going to have a second I fear the bitterness might build a little, but then again, who knows if it would? At the same time I am nearing the end of my glass and I just thought "I could go for another one of these", so maybe I'm way off base.

Hazy pale yellow. Smells of candy lemon. Subtle straw. Flavors of crabgrass. Lemon verbena. Heavy citronella. It feels dry hopped. Light. Crispy. Very nice

Poured from 12oz can, minimal white head ringing glass. Hazy pale straw color. Grapefruit citrusy hop taste. Not bitter at all. Clean mouth finish with only the slightest after taste.

Medium carbonation with a slightly thin body.
Aroma is citrus peel followed by citrus fruit. Earthy, malt, grain, sugary orange juice.
Taste is citrus peel upront followed by some citrus fruit. There's some malt, sweet orange juice and a healthy amount of citrus peel and hop bitterness that lingers for a long time
Overall it was a very flavorful experience and really excellent for a low abv beer

(12 oz can, 073120; purchased six-pack off shelf... poured into a way-too-large Imperial nonic)

L: mild-moderate milky-hazed, yellow-amber liquid... soft, dense, glassy-white foam builds almost a finger high on the pour, slow recede to a thin cap; some teensy booglets of lace

S: good lawd! likely the most vibrant fresh-peeled lemon zest aroma I've ever smelled off a beer; hints of grapefruit poking out from the background... malt note seems slight due to the intensity, bright clarity of the hops... almost smells like a hard lemonade

T: lemon shell (skin w/ pith), mellow granola; lemon hard candy essence (not sweetness) in the aftertaste... second sip reveals a subtle green-grassy, herbal bitterness in the mid-palate... the hops more than make up for the deficit of malt definition and alcohol presence

F: see: name of beer - more or less on point with that... the bitterness does initiate a mellow, bracing, lasting stun upon the tongue top; fantastic dryness, delicate lift from carbonation

O: they did rather well with this... drinks like a bitter a bit... wasn't sure what to expect; pleasantly surprised... far from dull; it would likely ace a pairing with grilled fowl or spicy seafood (1698)
