(12 oz can, 030723; purchased as part of Summer Supreme variety pack... poured into my Human Robot tubinger mug)
L: yellow liquid with gold highlights; two-finger high, loose, spongy foam build; bit of sawdusty sediment??... head falls fast, but leaves thick, fisheyed collar... no lace, none
S: lemon pith, sliced flower stem (green)... bright spice and floury sugar cookie emerge soon after, soapy hints... excellent intensity
T: pithy (vaguely lactic?!) tang and bitterness hits up front, followed by a slight swell of grainy, lightly-toasty malt, circling back toward the green, slightly-spicy bitterness in the finish... second sip more of the same, but with the citrusy twang building, though malt (though it's not quite 'malty') is still lingering in the background... it's nicely dry, however, the bitterness (now getting slightly salty?) is begging for a touch more granola sweetness for contrast
F: lazy, loose, kind of unfiltered flow; almost some drag or legs in the finish... fair amount of carbonation... light and refreshing, with just enough grease to satisfy my fat lips
O: this was my second can from the pack... tried one yesterday, but wasn't feeling it, and I didn't finish it... got through this one, but I'll give away the last one (2147)

Yards Brewing Co. "High Dive"
12 fl. oz. can coded "030723 1248 08:41"
$25.89 / Summer Supreme 12 pack variety case @ Javie's Beverage, Phila., PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: I like the name for a summer beer, and I like the label with the kind of graffiti-like lettering because that's so Philly despite my actually hating graffiti. It's a clear straw gold beneath a short head of bright white foam. The aroma is sweetish with grainy malt, grassy and lightly floral hops, and just a touch of apple-like fruitiness. It's very clean as you might expect. My guess is that this is Pilsner malt, perhaps with some 2-row or even corn thrown in, and Hallertauer Mittelfruh hops as I'm not getting the spiciness of Saaz. The flavor follows, and this is a really good, slightly lighter in terms of flavor, Pilsner. I added to the data base as a Czech Pilsner because it's definitely not a more bitter German-style Pilsner, not even one from the south. It's floral and delicate, lightly sweet but still dry, and highly quaffable. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and gently crisp-then-smooth with a fine-bubbled, moderate carbonation. One word - crushable.
