Pouring a cellar temp crowler into a snifter. The beer pours a clear mahogany color with some garnet highlights when held aloft. There is a fizzy dense khaki colored head of 3 cm that foams up even with a gentle pour. The head fades slowly to a sturdy edge layer with a few wispy islands.
The aroma is some caramel and some wheat twang with a bit of clove and dark berries. The aroma is appealing and generally sweet and is appropriate for the style.
The first sip reveals an average body with fine tingly carbonation the rolls across my palate. The flavor is sweet in general with some caramel and a bit of brown sugar and again some dark berries. I also get a bit of banana and the finish is some spicy clove notes. I dont get any booze or hops on this beer and I find it very easy to drink. There is a bit of lingering spicy clove sweetness and fruit after each swallow. I find this to be a very drinkable and enjoyable example of the style.
