Drawn from the tap into a half-pint snifter at Beer Merchants in Wickham, London.
Looks pretty, a big bubbly head on an opaque black bod... but only slightly above the style's average. Smells mostly of malt, more smoked that the style's usual which causes it to stand out. Tastes are balanced with the sweet up front and the bitter and roastiness taking over in mid-palate and lingering on top and staying the finish. Medium-mouthed. Soft.
Of my 4500 brews, I can't remember any from Northern Ireland. (That's more my memory than them.) My first from Bullhouse, I went on their website and give them good Overall Hugs for opening the first brewhouse taproom in Belfast, growing from a home brewer to a staff of 26 and distributing throughout the UK and exporting to three European countries. All good progress amidst even greater difficulties. Slainte' !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
