Courtesy of City Beverage in Winston-Salem. Unfortunately the beer is nowhere near as nice as the location. Pours a clear dark reddish-orange color with a thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. The aroma consists of some hops and spice. The body is a little on the thin side, and there is a fair amount of hops in the flavor, but very little else. Slight but lasting hoppiness in the finish. I would probably get this again if I were vacationing in the Outer Banks but not otherwise.

Holy cow...considering the last review of this one was late 2003, I imagine this had been sitting at the Ten Pin Cafe (Martinsville, VA) a while. They'll do that at the TPC, unfortunately. But the beer tasted fresh enough and didn't exhibit any dead or old traits, so off we go...
Poured a decent head (1/2 inch) that disappeared quickly leaving a thin film of foam at the top. Tiny hive-like layers of lace. Golden/yellow color leaning a tad toward a darker amber shade.
Smells of hops, mellow malts, and a sweetness that reminds of white grape.
Straightforward hops flavor, nothing extreme. A honey-like mellow sweetness follows. It's good and drinkable, though it lacks uniqueness.
Feels light in the mouth, but not watery. Crisp, but hefty enough to carry the hops/malt on through.
Drinkable? Sure, no problem, a good session beer, just nothing to covet or brag about.

Pours a straw color gold with a fast fading white head. Thin to none lacing left on the glass. A malt aroma with a hint of hops hit your nose. The taste is the same malt start with a hop finish. Not bad but not great. I think this beer would go well with a burger, other than that it is another average beer.

Here is one real drinkable micro-Lager from the Weeping Radish. It is crisp in taste and aroma for that matter. There is a certain clensing that goes on over the palate during the swallows. Goes well with heavier grub to cleanse the palate...Prost!

Pours a clear golden straw color with a nice white head that doesn't retain quite as much as I would like it to. Piney/graipfrutey hoppiness with a quiet malt presence in the background. Sweet malt start with some very grapefruity hoppiness. I love cascades, but they are certainly not supposed to be present in a German Pilsener. Crisp and rather hoppy this brew would be pleasant in hot weather. I definitely liked this beer but it certainly doesn't fit the style with its definite american hop flair. This almost gives new definiteion to american pilsener.

The label looks a little generic, but OBX is the local abbreviation for the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Until recently it was available only at the Weeping Radish brewpub.
Pours a nice golden color, with a white foamy head. On the nose there is a slight hop aroma. The same on the palate, slightly hoppy and a slight sweetness to it. All in all not to shabby.
