I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: murky dark-orange hue with a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. It's got the turbidity you expect from a rye beer, that's for sure.
Smell: nicely fruity with elements of both citrus and banana. A good combination of "IPA" and "rye".
Taste: murky, malty and with a dank, earthy hop character. That said, it's not bad if you like malt and dank. And it does indeed have that classic rye spiciness, although it only helps a little here.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and concomitant creaminess.
Overall: the flavor underwhelms me a little bit; and though the flavor is the most important thing about a beer, I think this one gets some points for degree of difficulty. So, give it a try if rye is your thing.
