Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin dark khaki head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, a touch of bourbon, cocoa and caramel. Flavor is dark toasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, cocoa; vanilla and bourbon finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A bold vanilla and bourbon porter and these two flavors pretty much dominated, with the interaction between them giving a indescribable fruitiness. The base porter seems solid, but is dominated by the barreling and vanilla flavor. Body is a little thin for a big ABV porter, but satisfactory. Delivers what it promises: a big bourbon and vanilla porter. Warming.

2019 bottle poured into a snifter yields a 2 finger mocha colored, dense head that leaves a ring around the glass and some moderate lacing.
Vanilla, bourbon, dark chocolate, pecan and roasted malts in the aroma.
Taste follows the nose with a nutty profile of walnut and pecan mixing with the vanilla, bourbon and bitter baking chocolate.
Medium mouthfeel with effervescent carbonation.
Overall a well done imperial porter with a little alcohol heat.
