Iteration No 2 (2019). 500ml bottle. Sample from the brewery.
Pours a glorious bright golden beer with a massive what foam head and a never-ending sticky lace. Soft and clean aroma with some yeast, bread, floral, and slightly medicinal notes. Crisp, creamy, and smooth on the palate with a light-medium body. Suggestions of white grapes with a smack of tart kiwi, some grassiness, grain, hay, a pear-like fruitiness, and an herbal tea-like astringency in the back. Very dry finish.
This was hidden in the back of my beer fridge. Pulled it out for Thanksgiving. Glad I did. Nelson Saison is a damn good, unadulterated, Belgian-style Saison. The world needs more of this.
