Light yellow body; lively carbonation; thick and fluffy white head; sticky, thick sheets of foam paint the interior of the glass. Wild and spicy aroma; sage and thyme; freshly cut green grass and lemon. Mildly phenolic flavor, blending some interesting elements of berries and pome fruits with a touch of citrus and light hop bitterness; white pepper. Medium body; mildly coarse with carbonation; dry juiciness overall.
A nice, enjoyable saison; nothing fancy or very memorable yet easy drinking and delightful enough for what it is.
Served at 57° F; "CANNED ON 10/9/20 SAISON JAMES".

Poured from 16oz can into my Central Coast Brewers Guild glass. Canned 10/9/20. This beer is just labeled "Saison" with no other name.
Appearance: light golden hue with a light, shimmery haze; head is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. I like it.
Smell: a good dose of classic barnyard funk, but it's smooth rather than sharp. I quite like it.
Taste: a little bit more sharp than the aroma suggested, but still; there's some classic funk here combined with a moderately sweet malt base and just a hint of sharpness. I can't decide if it has just enough funk or a little too much; I think I'm settling on "just enough".
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I like the character of this beer, but it has just enough sharpness to probably limit me to one. A good beer, if a little rough around the edges.
