Good American take on a Hefeweizen. Poured from a 16 oz can into an Aventinus Weizen glass, this beer features a hazy straw yellow color with a medium sized bubbly white head and average head retention. There is some light lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste lemon zest, strong yeast presence, some spicing (cardamom) and a little wheat bitterness. This is a tasty and pretty authentic tasting Hefeweizen. There could have been a bit more astringency and the "bubble gum" aspect found in many great German Hefeweizens, but there was still enough here to warrant this a good Hefe!!! Mouthfeel is light but rich enough for the style. There are enough flavors to make this an interesting Hefe, not just another bland, lemony version. I would drink this one again!!!
