Appearance: Pours a very dark amber with claret highlights before a strong light. The head is modest and tan-colored, soon collapsing to a scattering of foam on the surface. The lacing forms a thin, fine-beaded ring about the glass wall.
Aroma: The aroma presents a very pronounced note of blueberries submerged in milk chocolate; there is, as well, a presence of sweet alcohol, although this is subdued against the blueberries and chocolate.
Taste: As with the aroma, blueberries drenched in milk chocolate utterly dominate the taste, from start to finish. The alcohol at a considerable 11.8% nonetheless presents very graciously, offering a little spiciness and a gentle warmth. Late in the taste, the milk chocolate turns to bitter cocoa. The taste finishes with a wave of moderately bitter medicinal hops, which serve to balance the sweetness quite gracefully.
Mouth feel: Quite full and soft, with a feel comparable to whole milk, and a bit of gentle, soft carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A stunning dessert beer, would pair well with a blueberry dessert, in particular blueberry cheesscake.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.
