Aggressively poured from a nitro can into a pint glass
Appearance – The nitro pour reveals a brew with a dark amber color that displays a cascade of nitro bubbles as they raise through the brew. Eventually the nitro flow through the brew ceases, leaving a thick and heavy white foam on the surface of the brew. The thick foam persists for quite some time, leaving rings of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is light overall, being heaviest of a bready and caramel malt smell mixed with some toffee and a touch of toast.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet caramel and very bready and doughy flavor that is complimented by a tiny bit of pastry and lightly toasted bread. As the taste advances it sweetens slightly with notes of toffee and brown sugar joining in. Toward the end a hint of herbal and earthy hop joins in, leaving one with a smooth and malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – Being a nitro pour the body of the brew is silky and smooth. Very nice for the flavors and the style, making for a nice creamy feel to complement the sweet and malt.
Overall – At 9.0 % abv the alcohol is hidden well behind a nice malty base. A rather nice sipper indeed.
