Clear, yellow color. Medium-sized, white head. Grain, malt, and herbs in the aroma. The same notes follow into a hoppy taste with a dry finish. High-quality lager.

16oz can from Tavour. Clear golden pour, thin white foam head. Biscuity, bready aroma. Taste is malty, grainy, crisp. Hop bite lingers for a while, clean finish. Wonderful mouth feel.

can into glass
Very moderate, white head. Clear, medium gold appearance. Slightly sweet, flowery and lightly caramelized malt aroma, with a touch of yeast. Quite a sharp, un-toasted wood flavor, with some malt in the background.

A Pilsner Urquell on steroids. Tons of grass, lemon, and bready notes. It will be sure to jolt some pilsner fans awake.

this is like the cutting edge of what american breweries are now capable of in this style, almost renders the imports irrelevant, not because they arent still great, but because when you can get something this authentic and so fresh, it makes it hard to compete for things from far away places, this is a boon to american beer drinkers, and for me, this is approaching gold standard for this side of the pond, no joke. sexy golden clarity, two or more inches of high white head, airy and lasting, this sure fills a half liter dimpled mug pretty exceptionally well! the flavor us pure, simple, and old worldy with high refinement, decocted for sure, they get every ounce of character out of this pils malt, minerals, some of the earthiness of the hulls, and just a faint floral sweetness beneath the obvious saaz hops, less grassy, more bitter and vibrant with a lime zest note, a little green tea herbal quality, and overall maybe a little more bitter than most of the imports, but it aids the snappiness of the finish and this really is crisp and refreshing at each sip, remarkably so, i can hardly set my glass down, instantly impressive and almost addicting. faint jasmine, raw honey, and fresh bread, so simple, yet so flavorful too, so refined, so great! carbonation is way up here and its perfect for this, the body is light but its not watered down or anything, and this feels almost fancy to me. about as good as it gets for my money, and among my favorite wayfinder beers to date!

A - Pours a clear gold with large foamy white head. Tons of soapy lacing.
S - Aroma is green bananas, white bread and a light spiciness from the saaz hops.
T - The taste is apple, pear, candied lemon, black pepper, white bread and saaz hops.
M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft dry finish.
O - This a really solid Czech pilsner.

Type: 16-oz. can

Glass: North Park 16-oz. Willi Becher glass
Price: $4.94 (10 pct. off $5.49 with mixed 6-pack)
From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 28, 2021
Consumed: Nov. 10, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 7, 2021 at 10:04 p.m. PT
Snuck over to Bine & Vine to pick up the North Park anniversary beer. Ended up coming away with seven other beers as well, including three Wayfinder lager/pilsners. Their website just called this one “Boiled bohemian malt, heavily hopped with Saaz. Traditional and idyllic.” Worked for me.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see a good deal of bubbles coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass at different speeds. Decent watery lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled Saaz, black pepper, corn cereal, sweet grain, lager yeast, grass, lemon zest and floral. Much better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted spicy Saaz, black pepper, pear, apple, dry grass, bitter lemon, grain, corn cereal, sourdough bread, floral and lager yeast. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, dry, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was a really nice spicy pilsner. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
