this was without a doubt my favorite beer i had when i visited this awesome little brewery. its an unfiltered keller type kolsch, made for blue mountain, the local ski hill, and its a fantastic beer, modeled on their house kolsch recipe from what i understand, but left a little less cleaned up, its gorgeous! sunny colored and bright with the lightest haze to it and a tall white head rising above the rim of the glass and staying prominent the whole time. it smells delicate, like orchard fruit and proofing bread dough, and soft citrus, nuanced and refined, professional, and sort of lagered, crisp and tidy and dry dry dry. the flavor is the same, mild pale malt and a gentle honey note, floral hops, and a snappy european yeasty sort of finish, its delicious, poundable as they come, and to me a style of beer id like to see more craft breweries dip into. its not the most traditional kolsch in the world, but thats where its appeal comes from for me, its its own little thing, a respectful tip of the cap to the old world, but made their own. this should be a full time offering from these guys, its arguably their best beer, and i think a vastly superior offering to the lot 9 pils, which i reckon this could replace pretty easily in the market. i thought this was great!
