This is a decent wit. Does its job on a hot day and prepares me for the meal.
Marisol is a pretty female name (meaning "sea and sky"... but also culturally translates to the Virgin Mary.) As such, it crosses cultural lines... much like this wit. For it takes a northern European style and adds some Caribbean key lime that is both refreshing and useful at cutting through greasy or fatty foods.
Pretty name does not make pretty in the glass. Marisol is average, it could use protein swirls and lasting foam. Smells are mostly about the lime, but a fruity melange is present. Tastes are balanced; not too acidic from the lime. In my mouth, Marisol is medium but soft.
I keep telling myself I should pay more attention to Cruz Blanca and even pay them a visit. I like their motto "keep all lines open", they have an interesting menu and I want to taste their foods with their beers. But restaurant and taproom visits will be rare for me until everyone has the good sense to get vaccinated... or we have the good sense to require it, as is more likely. Letting a pandemic continue is going to be costly to the craft industry and particularly creative gastropubs like Cruz Blanca.
