This was another beer that I picked up recently at a Whole Foods in San Francisco, since this was new to me and look intriguing. Listed as a Helles Lager on here, this said "Export Lager" on the label as this was bit strong for the style. There wasn't much of anything memorable about this but for a nice summer night, this was enjoyable to kick back with, from start to finish!
The pour to this was brassy, muted, and just topped off with enough head that didn't last for the duration. Very little lacing stayed behind as this was balanced on the palate but not as carbonated as I hoped. Lots of bread, lemon, and light spice in the muted nose as the taste closely followed suit. Moderately slick, a bit chewy, and thin in the back, this was a typical Lager with not a lot of sulfur in the back although the aftertaste still left me wanting a chaser of water to fully get this down.
A bit of sticky dough also stuck around on my lips as that was thicker than the beer itself. Dated 2/7 on the bottom of the can with "NO JERKS" written above it, this was fine for a go-around once as it felt like a session beer when it came to the alcohol. Love the containers on the label but I'm sure this would be much better on tap than exported overseas!
