On draught at Fifth Hammer Brewing Co, Queens, NY.
Pours a honey golden color. Appearance is semi cloudy with a moderate head.
The nose is amazing with its smoky notes of wood, honey and barbecue. Just as impressive is how dank this smells, as it is teeming with herbal hops aromas, grass and weed. There are also aromas of biscuit, cracker, and apples.
Taste opens with a biscuity malt sweetness, doughy and slightly sticky. Adding to the sweetness is the use of honey, which pairs really well with the smokiness, evoking notes of sweet and spicy, honey flavored bbq sauce and wood. Well hopped with notes of herbal spices, grass, and increasing bitterness. The palate also becomes drier, increasing drinkability. The finish is smoky and dry.
Medium bodied with a nice easy going crispness. The carbonation is moderate. Full flavored but very refreshing.
Delicious so called “virtual” that uses a warm fermenting Norwegian yeast. Very tasty smoky flavors and ultra herbaceous hops aromatics. Drinking this felt like I was smoking some ribs or brisket, with joint/blunt in hand! Loved it!
