A Festbier lager brewed in honor of Oktoberfest, one of the best beer fests on the planet. This beer pours a rich gold and has a lightly toasted maltiness with a touch of honey sweetness. Hammerfest is crisp and clean with just enough bitterness on the end to leave you yearning for your next sip. Hammerfest is a true lager, brewed with the finest German malts and a traditional German lager yeast.

Pours a clear, orange-tinged honey-gold body capped with two fingers of slightly off-white foam; good head retention leaves a thin layer of persistent cap, large, frothy collar, and widespread collection of webby lacing strewn around the walls of the glass.

Aroma opens to a tinge of honey and backing of white toast as prickly minerality meets an inherent breadiness trending yeasty over time.

Taste offers a slight florality into fresh wheat bread upfront, with touches of honey over the mid-palate easing to a gentle minerality interspersed throughout and a soft, bread dough aspect on the finish.

Mouthfeel brings a medium-light body and spritzy froth of moderate-high carbonation, leaving taut textures guiding to a dry back end before peaking with a crisp, level finish.

Dry, bready, and with interspersed sweetness to balance, a general consistency is lauded in this universally solid take on the Festbier.

Pours a clear, very light amber, 2" off white head with good retention and strong lacing. Looks a bit dark for a fest, but otherwise very inviting. Nose is hay, wheat, dough, light malt and caramel. Again, a bit more malt character than expected, but almost a hybrid between the two styles. Taste plays bitter throughout, however, though there is a subtle, underlying malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is rather full and soft. Overall, this was very enjoyable, but has some maltier characteristics more like an Oktoberfest, while the feel makes it heavier than the spirit of a sessionable fest.

See through deep gold yellow body, white head that has a bit of lacing. German smelling beer, grassy, malty, sweet. Bready taste, a bit of old world tasting hops, with some sweetness at the end. Balanced and satisfying.

A: The beer is crystal clear golden orange in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high off white head that left a large patch of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of toasted malts and spicy hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has stronger flavors of toasted malts and spicy hops, the latter of which also contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, clean and a bit dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that the taste of this beer had a very nice balance between the malts and hops.
