Growlette share with a buddy.
We both poured into glass mugs.
The appearance was a nice dark brown close to black color with a lasting finger's worth eggshell white foamy head that slid off at a decent pace. Mild milk colored lace roams around the glass.
The aroma had a nice gentle and smooth sweet chocolate to roasty coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. Just really seemed to cohesively move together extremely well.
The flavor was moderately sweet with an ample amount of roasty coffee coming in for a subtle balance. Some light ash. Mild aftertaste of sweet coffee and milk chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a decent little stick of a roasty grab gripping my tongue. It's nice enough to distract and pull down anything that could become cloying, nice check on OC's part.
Overall, definitely one of the better milk/sweet stouts on the market without the normal syrupy/cloying qualities that tend to be the downfall of this style. Yup, this one, somewhat reminds me of Upper Pass's milk/sweet stout with the same idea of nothing cloying.
