Poured into shaker, 1 finger cream colored head nice retention and lacing. Crystal clear golden in the glass. Smells faintly of orange/citrus. Taste of biscuit malt, and some slight citrus, opens up with more orange in the middle and a very minor orange pith bitterness on the finish. Clean tasting lager, one of my favorite hops in a saison and it holds up well here.

This is their Pale Lager, with a different hop. Obviously dry hopped with the German Mandarina Bavaria.
A: Pours a crystal clear golden/yellow color. A dense two finger white head forms with excellent retention and lace left all the way down the glass.
S: The nose is subtle, but citrus and orange rind up front. Grassy with a light green bitterness. More cracker and biscuit like malts round everything out. Very balanced and simple.
T: Like the nose, more subtle hops with some citrus and orange rind. Biscuit and cracker malts are more apparent with a light lingering bitterness.
M/O: A light body and effervescent carbonation. Crisp, clean, super dry and smooth at the same time. Really easy and enjoyable to drink. A well made lager.
Like everything Holler does, this is well made and really clean and dry. Which I always appreciate. As much as I think this is a well made lager, I don't think it is as good as Dollar Pils or the Nelson Sauvin version. Certainly a good malt balance, and the hops try to be citrus and orange like, but the few times I have had this hop in other offerings, it just seems a weaker version of American C hops. I kind of feel the same here. A good attempt, and they always make great lagers, but not their best, which might have more to do with my opinion of the particular hop than anything.
