A: Pours a golden/orange color with some haze. A nearly two finger white head forms with excellent retention, and plenty of lace left behind
S: Up front I get a bit of a sulfur aroma. Maybe a touch of DMS, but not enough to detract for me. That quickly fades and peppery spice, and light phenols take over. Banana esters are present, with a hoppy finish. Some citrus rind and touch of grapefruit.
T: No sulfur/DMS here. Peppery spice, phenols, light banana esters. A touch of grainy malts, and a little bit of sweetness. Citrus. pine grapefruit hops in the finish. With some bitterness as well.
M/O: A medium body with effervescent carbonation that finishes semi dry. Really easy and enjoyable to drink. I had a few at the brewery with no issues and will be coming back for more.
Who would of thunk it, that I would enjoy another Saison from Holler? Just a touch of sulfur in the nose, but that is very minor, and overall another good example of the style. It might not be my favorite they have done with the style, but still something I will come back to and enjoy.
