Pours an orangish cloudy color with a thin foamy head. Retention and lacing are both very mild. Has a nice citrus aroma with slight piney resin. There is some tropical fruit in the background. Taste pretty much follows suit. More tangerine with some tropical fruit and moderate piney bitterness at the end. The aftertaste is very mildly abrasive but still good. Medium bodied with low to moderate carbonation. Good beer but not the best NEIPA from Baa Baa

Orange is the New Black NEIPA - Baa Baa Brewhouse
Bought 11-18-2017. Served in an IPA glass
Look:
Pours a hazy, opaque burnt orange color with a white head that has medium bubble texture and poor to low head retention.
Smell:
Sweet citrus candy notes up front followed by a slight pine, tangerine, and hints of cantaloupe aromas. Some notes of alcohol .
Taste:
Hoppy but smooth. No detectable malt flavors. Hops are moderate in bitterness with a lingering pine taste. Some low amounts of tropical fruit hop flavor in the background. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast derived esters or phenols. Aftertaste is somewhat harsh.
Feel:
Classic NEIPA mouthfeel. Low carbonation, but it is not flat by any means. Lack of carbonation helps give the beer a slight creaminess that plays well with the overall beer.
Overall:
A nice beer with overall good flavor and feel. Only critiques are the somewhat harsh aftertaste and the noticeable booze aroma on a beer that should be able to hide it or not have it at all. I look forward to trying more from Baa Baa Brewhouse.
